One of the greatest moments in life is realising that  a few weeks ago your body couldn't do what it just  did...
  • About

Sport has always been a large part of my life, not a day goes by that does not involve sport in some form. Whether it is supporting, competing, training or conditioning, I enjoy every aspect. Whilst declaring a passion for the physical side, I also have an interest in the science behind the sport and fitness industry. Learning how to get the most out of any specific individual has become a particular strength of mine. I have played rugby for the majority of my life and as a child it was my ambition to play professionally, however, due to an injury of my knee ligaments I was forced to look elsewhere to fulfil that sporting desire. I have exchanged Rugby for Rowing and more recently road Cycling; two less impact sports that still provide a maintenance of fitness with a competitive edge. Although I have participated in these sports competitively I still take great interest in all forms of sport and have some experience of playing a broad selection of various sports.

I am currently a qualified level 3 personal trainer on the Register of Exercise Professionals and am due to complete Active IQ Level 4 Certificate in Exercise for the Management of Low Back Pain in February. I have recently completed a Sports Science BSc Degree at Loughborough University. I previously attended Hartpury College, where student selection was based upon sporting and academic success; I Achieved A-Levels in Biology, Physical education and Psychology which provided an excellent foundation for my Sports Science Degree. Anatomy, strength & conditioning, sports analysis, fitness training & testing, exercise physiology and nutrition are a selection of modules I undertook whilst studying at Loughborough. These theory and practical based modules cover areas and issues one will encounter in the personal training profession.

While completing my Industrial Placement, I carried out an extended work placement at Worcester Warriors R.F.C where I gained valuable sport science skills. During this placement I had many key roles, these included: supplement preparation, heart rate analysis, assisting gym sessions, match day preparation and fatigue testing. Other experience at a professional sports team came as part of the performance analysis modules where I worked within a small team analysing the performance of Leicester Tigers academy, working with sports code to measure various aspects of performance.

My knowledge, desire to work in a fitness environment and passion for sport will be beneficial to a variety of clients on both a theoretical and practical level.
